SCTC Industry Impact Methodology

Each year, the Society of Communications Technology Consultants International (SCTC, formerly the Society of Telecommunications Consultants or STC) publishes an industry impact report, summarizing the spending that SCTC independent consultants influence through client engagements. Data for this report is gathered annually during the SCTC membership renewal process.

 

2012 SCTC Industry Impact

$225,600,000 in SCTC Consultant Recommendations in 2012

In 2012, the Society of Communications Technology Consultants International (SCTC, formerly the Society of Telecommunications Consultants or STC) influenced $225 million in Information Technology Spending. The aggregate IT spending and the diversity in project sizes influenced by SCTC consultants indicates that business enterprises of all sizes value the contribution of an unbiased, experienced consultants when assessing service requirements and new product acquisitions.

Vendors and Service Providers should recognize that the SCTC represents a significant opportunity since consultants serve as customer advocates. Ideally, this benefits both the vendor and the customer, with a much higher level of confidence and customer satisfaction from purchases involving an independent, unbiased expert.

2010 SCTC Industry Impact

More than $850 Million in SCTC Consultant Recommendations in 2010

In 2010, the Society of Communications Technology Consultants International (SCTC, formerly the Society of Telecommunications Consultants or STC) membership influenced $850M in Information Technology spending, with one member reporting $2 Billion in influence and recommendations. (Note: This $2 Billion was excluded from the averages and aggregate statistics in order to report trends more relevant to the majority of STC Consultant members.) Based on the $398 Million that was identified by a specific product category, 58% of the spending was related to carrier services, while over $142 million dollars were related to customer premise equipment.
