Save the date!  The Society of Communications Technology Consultants (SCTC) Great Lakes Regional Meeting will be held on Friday, May 15, 2015 from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM at the historic Oliver House in Toledo, OH.  Cost of this event is $50 and covers lunch and sessions.

Call for Speakers!  We are currently looking for speakers with the goal to inform, spark discussion, and allow for observations and interaction from the group.  We are particularly interested in topics dealing with changes on the carrier front as well as cloud solutions.  Suggested topics include:

  • Current and future state of TDM services, pricing, and contracts
  • Fiber-based access - who is delivering and how available is it?
  • MPLS versus VPN over Internet - which WAN design is best?
  • 4G services and beyond - is this our WAN of the future?
  • Ethernet services - what you need to know about them
  • Regulatory changes and impact: Net neutrality, USF, etc.
  • Cloud Services - what is really being put in the cloud?

Please let me know if you have other topics or ideas!  If you would like an opportunity to present please contact Ted Mallires at

The format:  Individual speakers or a panel of speakers.  We encourage interaction with the audience to discuss the topic.  We are interested in hearing from:

  • Independent communications technology consultants
  • Those that can speak to carrier services and the future of network offerings
  • Those that are Copper (POTS and Centrex) service providers
  • Cloud providers

Please invite others!  We encourage all to invite or bring any non-SCTC consulting friends or colleagues you may know that you think would like to learn more about these industry topics and the SCTC!

Afterwards, we will have an optional dinner (as an add on) to continue the discussions over food, drink, and craft brews.
