It’s that time of year again!  Below is the “Call for Speakers” for the 2019 SCTC conference to be held at the Eaglewood Resort & Spa outside of Chicago on November 18 – 21, 2019.  Presentations should be tailored to educate a seasoned audience and provide reasonable depth and detail on your selected topic.  If proposing a Panel Discussion, identify the participants.  Below are the four Presentation Formats outlined in the submission form. 

To help get everyone thinking we have listed sample topics under each Presentation Format.  These are just a guide, feel free to offer relevant topics of your choice and in the format you prefer.

Suggested Presentation Formats (with example topics)

In-Depth Workshops – In-depth workshops allow for detailed information to be presented on a specific topic

  1. Cloud Computing connectivity (AWS, Azure, Google):  Discuss connectivity methods and pricing models, explanation/comparison of Cloud-connect based carriers services
  2. SD-WAN: Discuss benefits, applications, and comparison of vendor approaches and features
  3. UCaaS:  Discuss current state of the market; differences between providers; lessons learned
  4. Security:  Discuss security as it relates specifically to communications projects:  SIP trunking, SBC’s, WAN design (MPLS, IPsec VPN’s), Contact Center, etc.

Consulting Practice Management Sessions – Sessions aimed to increase business and practice management skills

  1. Sales/Marketing Skills, creating an online presence
  2. Partnering with SCTC consultants – how to be more effective
  3. Panel discussion: What trends are you seeing that are affecting your consulting practice?

Technology Information Sessions – These sessions offer an educational edge in current and emerging issues – with particular emphasis on how it relates to communications consulting

  1. SDN
  2. Cellular Networks (5G)
  3. Enterprise Wireless Networks (WLAN, WiFi)
  4. Digital Transformation
  5. Cabling infrastructure update
  6. Block Chain
  7. Network Slicing

Case Studies or Focused Tracks – Case Studies or Focused Tracks cover a limited topic

  1. Case studies that provide insight into unique and advanced approaches to system/network designs, vendor selections, deployments, technology adoption
  2. Case studies that provide insight into how SCTC members expand their practice, find and develop consultants, partner with consultants, expand their business opportunities

Submit your name as you wish to see it published. Please include your professional designation after your last name.  We will allow one proposal per person.

It is important to note that sessions presented at the SCTC conference may be topic-specific but must not be a sales pitch for a vendor service or product.
