SCTC hosts a number of Regional Meetings around the country as a way for SCTC members to get involved in the organization and network with one another. These meetings range from an educational format to a very informal, fun gathering.

Please submit your completed Call for Presentation form to the SCTC CRG Chair – Cheryl Helm at [email protected]. We will notify on status of submission to the proposing speaker no later than Thursday, June 4, 2020.  Please note we are planning on recording the event so those who cannot attend will have a chance to listen.

 

 We are planning to select one presentations from VAC, Consultant and Analyst speakers.   If you would like to suggest a panel discussion, that is welcome also. Below are the suggested topics for submission, we will choose one from the technical topics below. We have left them a bit open for the speaker to hone in on the topic:

 

Topic 1 – Technical:

 

  • AI
  • Analytics – could be AI-driven to help IT gauge adoption and usage of new deployments like UC or CC
  • IoT – smart home, smart car, smart building, smart office, etc.
  • Network security – new challenges coming with WFH
  • Privacy/identity – growing need for this as we use video more now, and try to manage work and personal communications on our mobile devices
  • Robocalling – STIR/Shaken is leading the way to put safeguards in place, but more needs to be done to restore trust with telephony for workers
  • Video conferencing and the need for high security
  • Next Gen Connectivity – Satellite rush
  • 5G and where it stands today
  • WIFI 6

 

  • Other suggestions are welcome.

 

Topic 2 – Practice Management:

 

 This topic already has a moderator and panel.

 

Suggested Presentation Formats

 

Presentations, Panel discussions – Should be no longer than 45 – 50 minutes in length, allowing for 10 minutes of Q and A.

 

Consulting Case Study Sessions (Consultant) – Typically 45 – 50 minutes in length, aimed to the audience understand the practical application (pros and cons) of the deployment of the technology tools.
